more on Evesham

The recent recording at Evesham has got some attention.

The Worcester News wrote this...

TV comic Paul Merton had an awkward moment during the recording of BBC Radio 4 favourite Just A Minute at Evesham’s Regal cinema.
The Have I Got News For You favourite had to descend from the Regal’s stage due to an attack of vertigo.
Crowds snaked all the way down Port Street as fans of the show tried to get in to watch the recording. Alongside Merton, the other panellists were comedian Miles Jupp and poet Pam Ayres.
Hosted by Nicholas Parsons, the show format sees panellists talk on a subject for 60 seconds – without hesitation, repetition or deviation – and the event was hailed a great success.

and the Evesham Journal had a similar piece.

They both published this snap of Paul Merton, Nicholas Parsons, Pam Ayres and Miles Jupp - was Charles Collingwood late again?

who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Nicholas Parsons is on Twitter!

bit more news

the panel at Evesham today is Paul Merton, Charles Collingwood, Pam Ayres and Miles Jupp.

And if various tweets can be trusted, the stage they are performing on is elevated to the extent that Paul has suffered mildly from vertigo and the engineers have had to set him up in a special spot in front of the audience but on the floor with them!

bits of news

JAM is recording in Evesham tonight and according to a posting on Facebook by the theatre, the Regal Cinema, the panel includes Paul Merton, Pam Ayres and Charles Collingwood. I'm guessing the last slot will go to a newcomer...

and as part of the BBC's Edinburgh Festival programming, Paul Merton and Nicholas Parsons are hosting a QANDA talk on our favourite show. You can apply for tickets to the show here.

I'd love to be there and am thinking of sending in some questions.

I see Nicholas is also doing a QANDA at the end of the Evesham recording. Maybe he will start a tour. After all he's only 88.

Paul Merton turned 55 a few days ago... he still seems younger though, doesn't he...
