Countdown

The job of presenting Countdown is up for grabs again and I see the bookies have installed Stephen Fry as favourite. I wonder if they will take my bet AGAINST Stephen as to me, the chances of him doing a five-day-a-week 12-months-a-year game show are about the same chances of me ending up as host. Stephen likes variety in his work, I don't see him becoming a full-time game-show host.

But I see Gyles Brandreth is also being discussed, that may be more of a possibility.

And while I'm here, Paul Merton's new theatre sports show Thank God You're Here has been cancelled.
