next season

They should have started recording for the next season of JAM - anyone been to a recording or heard any news of venues, dates or panels?

I've discovered that a recording of JAM occurred at the Hay Festival in Wales on Sunday 27th May and that Marcus Brigstocke was one of the panellists. Unfortunately, his review of Hay on The News Statesman website hasn't been cached on Google, so any further details I can't, currently, access at the moment.

"The cast of Radio 4's Just a Minute is in, and Nicholas Parsons, still wearing candy-striped, golf-club-secretary jackets in his eighties, is standing beside Wole Soyinka, the wild-white-haired Nobel Prize-winning playwright."

"Later, following lying down for a bit I went to Just A Minute. It was absolutely hilarious, Maureen Lipman, Paul Merton Nicholas Parsons and Pam Ayres plus some bloke I don't know who he was, some comedian or something. So much more funny in the flesh as you can see the eyes, the gestures, the interactions between the panellists. I think Nicholas Parsons is loosing it - he is still the consummate showman but perhaps his mind is not what it once was."

Thanks very much for your work Simon.

What is the source for saying they changed teams between recordings - it's unusual for that to happen outside Edinburgh. It hasn't happened outside Edinburgh since 1994. Not saying you're wrong - I'm just interested to know why you think so.

But thanks again - it's very much appreciated

cheers, Dean

The source was from someone who attended both recordings. Here:

Cool, Dara O'Briain's back, along with Pam Ayers and Maureen Lipman, excellent. Telusha's making some excellent choices with panelists.
