JAM team

for the last recording of the current season is Paul Merton, Sheila Hancock, Kevin Eldon and Joe Lycett.

Not a great season for the semi-regulars - no Tony Hawks, no Graham Norton and no Sue Perkins. Sue has now missed three of the past four seasons.

Do you know how long a recording takes from an audience member perspective please?

yes, they record two shows at once with each show being about 40 minutes each, with a short break between - so roughly an hour and a half

Hello Dean, Went to the recording last night and although I expected there to be a big difference between the newbies and the seasoned panelists, Kevin Eldon held his end up well speaking for a full minute in the first and almost managing several times to repeat the achievement a few more times too. He becomes almost manic when he's speaking and Sheila buzzed her buzzer not to challenge him but she was concerned for his health. He can improvise in a very Paul like way only at slower speed. The voice he adopts indicates that this is his favoured mode of speech. As for Joe Lycett - as soon as he quite openly announced that he was bisexual it gave rise to some discussion from Nicholas and the others as to how they could get away with broadcasting Joe's announcement at noon on Sundays. This endeared him to Sheila. Sheila reminisced about her 'Rag Trade'days with Peter Jones and Miriam Karlin and her love of panel games and the types of supportive regular audiences who attend recordings. A friendly loud whistling crowd they were too. Paul was on form too. Joe admitted he needed more practice at the game. A nice atmosphere that nurtured the newbies and welcomed them to the JAM fold. It seems that there will be another 8 shows (2 of them in Edinburgh) to be broadcasted later on in the year. 4 double recordings in June, 2 in July. As my Mum has become quite infirm I wont be able to make the book launch on the 16th of August. But I'm sure it will go well. If the situation changes then I might make a last minute appearance. Hope all is well with you. All the very best Keith.

Titbit: last evening (Tue 3 Jun) Tony Hawks was part of a recording of QI. He appeared with Aisling Bea(?) and Josh Widdicombe.
